Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Ripe Pineapple, Guava, Peach and White Flower with ripe tropical flavors. The pallet is light bodied and a bit overly soft. What it lacks in complexity it makes up for by being incredibly refreshing.
Vineyard Notes
Love Ranch Vineyard is at an elevation of 1,350 ft, 35 miles South of Yosemite National Park. 21 acres are farmed organically on varied slopes of granitic schist. With excellent drainage and moisture retention the day's heat, these soils radiate warmth into the vine’s canopy on cold nights. During late spring and through out the summer months, constant winds of 10mph start around 2pm and well into the evening. This also aids in moderating temperatures of the granite soils on hot days.
Winemaker Notes
Love Ranch is a new site for us. The Marsanne was harvested the as soon as the acid profile began to shift. The warmer climate of this site ripened the fruit faster than we were able to harvest. The ripe profile made for a very soft wine with juicy, approachable tropical flavors. While it was a bit riper than desired, the wine is so accessible and refreshing that we may continue to harvest this site a bit on the ripe side in the future. It was pressed directly to tank and let ferment wild for 30 days. The wine was moved off its sediment to a fresh tank directly before bottling. No additives were used with the acceptation of a small amount of sulfur to preserve its freshness.
