Miralaguna Vineyard is named for the view of the ancient sea bed that surrounds it. It sits on a small sand and gravel hill 15 miles from the Santa Barbara coast. The coastal fog keeps the temperature cool and burns off late afternoon giving the fruit just enough sun. This climate suits Sangiovese and gives it the proper balance of flavor ripeness and integrity. The dedication to organic farming has produced healthy well balanced soils and low yielding vines.
This fruit was hand picked, fermented for 10 days on its skins, gently pressed, and aged for 10 months in French oak barrels. Seven barrels were produced.
2016 was a warm dry year causing a high fruit acidity balanced by bold flavors.
